Yassir Chediak is an artist with a 25-year career, recognized for his talent as a viola caipira player, composer, singer, producer, host, and actor.

He is a national reference in the viola caipira, a traditional Brazilian string instrument from the countryside, and stands out for exploring its sound across various Brazilian musical styles such as samba, forró, baião, and even rap and blues—creating a fusion of rhythms that brings a fresh perspective to Brazilian music.

Throughout his career, Yassir has performed at important cultural venues, such as the BNDES Cultural Center (Rio de Janeiro), Sesc Belenzinho (São Paulo), and the Paulista Cultural Circuit. He has also performed in the United States, standing out at venues like the Old Town School of Folk Music (Chicago) and Bona Sera (Michigan), where he received praise for his technique and stage presence. His song “Brasil Caminhoneiro” is the theme of the TV show of the same name, broadcast by TV Record, reaching millions of viewers. In recent years, Yassir circulated with different formats of shows, filling theaters such as Espaço Cultural BNDES (RJ), Sesc Belenzinho (SP) and units in the interior, where he also performed at Circuito Cultural Paulista. During a visit to the USA, he made presentations that were sold out and warmly received by the American public, in places such as the Old Town School of Folk Music (Chicago) and Bona Sera (Michigan). In 2020 and 2021, the artist dedicated himself to far-reaching musical lives and the recreation of the Viola Caipira portal.

Don’t be fooled by the title of violinist. The viola caipira, typical of the interior of the country, is the basis of his work and Yassir is a national reference in the instrument, but Chediak’s sound repertoire is vast and is not restricted to a musical aspect. The musician skillfully travels and recreates varied Brazilian rhythms and styles.
